Last seen in Suriya's cop film Si 3, Shruti Hassan has teamed up with Vidyut Jammwal, the villain of Ajith's Billa 2 and Vijay's Thupakki, for a yet-to-be-titled Hindi film. The gangster drama went on floors yesterday in Mumbai.

This is Shruti and Vidyut's first collaboration. The film is helmed by actor-turned-director Mahesh Manjrekar, who recently played the role of Fahad Faasil's father in Sivakarthikeyan's social drama Velaikkaran

Shruthi was supposed to act along with her father Kamal Hassan in the trilingual Sabash Naidu (Sabash Kundu in Hindi), a spin-off of the character Balram Naidu from 2010's Dasavatharam. However, the veteran actor entered full-time politics recently, and the status of the film is unknown as of now.

Vidyut, on the other hand, is simultaneously shooting for his adventure film, Junglee, directed by The Mask and The Scorpion King-filmmaker Chuck Rusell.

An official announcement about the crew and title of the Shruthi-Vidyut starrer, is yet to be made by the producers, Vijay Galani and Pratik Galani.
