Samantha, who is riding high on the success of her recent period drama Rangasthalam, has completed dubbing for her portions in the upcoming bilingual biopic of Savitri, Mahanati.

The film, which is also simultaneously being made in Tamil as Nadigaiyar Thilagam, is the first Telugu film the actor has lent her voice to. Singer Chinmayi has been the on-screen voice for Samantha since her debut in 2010's Ye Maaya Chesave. The director of Mahanati, Nag Ashwin, apparently asked Dulquer Salmaan and Samantha to lend their own voices for the film to retain the authenticity of the characters.

The teaser of the film, featuring Keerthy Suresh as Savitri and Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, was released recently and went viral on social media. The biopic, which will be hitting the screens on May 9, also stars Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey of Arjun Reddy fame.
