The 65th National Film Awards were announced today and the big budget Telugu films Ghazi Attack and Baahubali: The Conclusion bagged multiple awards. While the former won the Best Telugu Film Award, the latter bagged the awards for special effects, action direction and popluar film providing wholesome entertainment.

The Ghazi Attack, the period war film, stars Rana Daggubati, Tapsee Pannu, and Atul Kulkarni in the lead role. The film was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Hindi, and dubbed in Tamil. Sankalp Reddy, who debuted as a director with the India's first underwater war film, Ghazi Attack, says he is pleasantly surprised. "I never expected this award. We didn't make Ghazi with an intention to win the award, as a team we worked sincerely and tried to give our best for the film. It's really exciting and the news is still sinking in," he says.

Incidentally, the first installment of the Prabhas-starring Baahubali franchise won the Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects awards last year.

It is interesting to note that Rana Daggubati played crucial roles in both the National-Award-Winning-films.
