Actor Nikhil Siddhartha is all set to don yet another new avatar in his next, tentatively titled Mudra, a remake of the Tamil film Kanithan. He will be seen playing an investigative journalist in the film to be directed by TS Santosh, who also helmed the original.

"I'm really excited to play the role of a journalist in my upcoming film. The film is based on a true story, and it's definitely a challenging character for me. Being a journalist is a tough job, and I have drawn inspiration from all of you (reporters). I have been interacting with several reporters to understand the challenges in order to give my best. I hope to express the aggression, determination and energy that all of you possess. My respect for journalists has shot up after I stepped into your shoes," says Nikhil.

The principal shooting of Mudra began two weeks ago and the team is currently filming crucial scenes with Nikhil and other members of the cast in Hyderabad. "We are shooting in all real locations and it’s fun to work with my friends Vennela Kishore and Satya for this film," reveals Nikhil.

A popular actor, known for her work in Telugu and Tamil, is said to be in talks to play the female lead in this action thriller.
