We had told you that Ennu Ninte Moideen director RS Vimal would be teaming up with Vikram for a biographical drama, Mahavir Karna.

The latest information about the project is that the shoot will start by October at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad where huge sets have been constructed.

Sources say the team will be shooting important sequences in Jaipur and Canada. "The pre-production work has been going on for two years. We'll also get world-class technicians from Australia and New York for special effects," adds a source.

While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised, we hear, Mahavir Karna will have an international appeal though the central theme revolves around the epic Mahabharata.

Touted to be made on a budget of Rs 300 crore, the film will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam.

One may recall that Vimal had earlier announced the same film with Prithviraj, but eventually opted for Vikram.

It looks like the makers are planning to release the film in time for the Christmas holidays next year.
