Warner Bros has roped in Christina Hodson to handle the script for the untitled Batgirl solo film. This announcement has come as good news for DC fans as the project was stalled temporarily after Joss Whedon who helmed Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron and the reshoots of Justice League, left the project.

Christina Hodson, who has written the screenplay for the upcoming Transformers spinoff Bumblebee and the all-women-DC-superhero-film Birds of Prey, will be writing a fresh script for the Batgirl film, featuring the character Barbra Gordon, daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.

Notably, Birds of Prey also features Batgirl, along with other superheroes Black Canary, Oracle and Huntress. Warner Bros has kept the other details of the Batgirl film under wraps, and they are yet to make an official statement about the principal cast and crew.
