Following Sri Reddy's demonstration at the Film Chamber on Saturday accusing Movie Artistes Association (MAA) of not giving membership to her, actor Sivaji Raja, President of MAA, has remarked that the whole incident was very disturbing.

Speaking at a press meet on Sunday, Sivaji Raja stated that Sri Reddy is blatantly lying and creating all the ruckus for the sake of publicity. "We receive many applications and we will give membership to an actor after a thorough scrutiny provided their application meets professional standards. As for Sri Reddy's issue, her application form was incomplete and she didn't pay the membership fee by means of a demand draft (DD). Henceforth, keeping the recent developments in mind, MAA is denying membership to her."

Sivaji Raja also revealed that MAA has passed a resolution to this effect: "None of the 900 members of MAA will support or act with her. If anyone goes against our policy, we will suspend them from MAA. Our legal cell has initiated proceedings against her, and in future, we will take strict disciplinary action against those who resort to such things."

Actors Srikanth, Banerjee and others present at the press meet expressed their displeasure and termed that such incidents are a disgrace to the industry.
