Tamil remake of Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil to star Jiiva 

The original film starred Anthony Varghese and Vinayakan in the lead roles

The Malayalam film Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, which released last week, is going to get the remake treatment in Tamil. Director Tinu Pappachan, who helmed the original film, will be directing the remake. Jiiva is slated to play the lead role, which was played by Anthony Varghese, of Angamaly Diaries fame, in the original.

The film also starred Vinayakan in an important role, and sources state that he might reprise his role in the Tamil version too. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be finalised. 

Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil marked the the debut of Pappachan, who has previously assisted Angamaly Diaries-director Lijo Jose Pellisserry. 

Meanwhile Jiiva, who was recently seen in Kalakalappu 2, has Kee, Gorilla, Gypsy and an untitled film with director Rajasekhar of Mapla Singam fame.
