Poonam Kaur, who was last seen in the Trisha-starrer Nayagi, has bagged the role of a queen in Swarnakhatgam, a mega-budget TV series, produced by the makers of Baahubali. A source close to the actor says she has been shooting in Hyderabad for this series for the past five months. "For this character, she has been practising sword fighting and horse riding," the source adds. Directed by Yata Satyanarayana, the series also has Nikki Galrani's sister, Sanjjanaa Galrani, playing a warrior queen. 

On the film front, Poonam has a Telugu project in the pipeline. She'll also make her debut in Hindi soon. Talks for this are apparently on, though official confirmation is awaited.
