Kaala certified U/A

The Rajinikanth-Ranjith film seems to be on track for its April 27 release

Rajinikanth's Kaala, which is slated for release on April 27, has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. The certification of the film has increased the prospects of the film releasing on schedule; it was earlier speculated that it could be postponed owing to the ongoing TFPC strike.

Several news portals reported yesterday that the film has received 14 cuts from the censor board due to excessive violence in the fight sequences. However, a source close to the film has refuted this as a baseless rumour.

Kaala marks the second collaboration of Rajinikanth and Ranjith after 2016's Kabali. The film, co-starring Nana Patekar, Samuthirakani, and Anjali Patil, is produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Productions and distributed by Lyca Productions.
