Catherine Tresa, whose last outing was Kathanayagan, is a part of Kalakalappu 2. Directed by Sundar C, the project will have Hip-Hop Tamizha composing the music. Khushbu has confirmed that the film will have Jiiva, Jai and also Nikki Galrani playing important roles.

Earlier, it was speculated that Vemel and Oviya will be retained for the sequel. However, this is not the case. "The shooting will begin from October 4. The team is expected to shoot in Hyderabad, Pune, Karaikudi," says a source.

It's not yet known if Shiva is also a part of the sequel.
