Amidst all the speculations regarding Kunjalimarickar, cinematographer Santhosh Sivan, who will be directing the movie, has confirmed that the project is very much on.
 
"Yes, we are doing the project. But, not anytime soon as it is still in the discussion stage. The movie needs a quite a lot of effort and the dates have to be finalised. Right now, it is too early to talk about the project as I am busy with several other projects," says Santhosh Sivan.

The director, however, confirmed that the project is likely to go on the floors by next year.
 
Kunjalimarickar, which will have Mammootty in the lead, is said to be scripted by Sankar Ramakrishnan. 
Reports are also rife that the movie will be produced by August Cinemas and has a budget of whopping 25 crores.
