The producers of Sangamitra, Thenandal Studios Limited, recently announced that Disha Patani will play the titular role in the trilingual also starring Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead. The latest we hear is that Sundar C will start shooting for the film from the end of December.

"The director is currently occupied with Kalakalappu 2 in Varanasi. If everything goes as planned, he will wrap up shoot by the the second week of December. Once he's done with Kalakalappu 2, he'll get on with Sangamitra," says a source.

CE learns that the pre-production work is already on, with Ravi and Arya getting trained for their respective roles. "Although Sangamitra will be a purely Indian film, we are targeting an international audience," added the source
