Kali is a thriller

The film, directed by scriptwriter-turned-director Najeem Koya, has five young new faces in the lead

The first look of scriptwriter-turned-director Najeem Koya's Kali is out and looks promising. According to the director, Kali is a comic thriller. "It has a very pronounced thrilling element, but the narrative is laced with humour. The thread came to me after I noticed how well-groomed today's youngsters are. Everybody looks the same that we have no idea what their background is. This element forms the crux of the story," he says. Najeem, who has scripted movies like Two Countries, adds that Kali also has an element of mystery in it.

The shoot of the movie has already been wrapped up. The film has five young new faces in the lead. "Though they are relatively fresh faces, they have appeared in many movies, like Idukki Gold. This subject needed such faces," he says.

Kali is being produced under the banner of August Cinemas. It will hit the screens next month.
