P Vasu is rewriting Apthamitra 2 as a sequel

Express Features

Apthamitra 2 has been creating a buzz even since it has been announced, and what makes it even more interesting is that director P Vasu will be rewriting the script to connect it to the first part, though the movie will be a remake of Sundar C's Tamil film Aranmanai.

The director is not keen on making two separate films. Instead he wants to make it a continuous series and take off from where the first part ended. Vasu, who directed Apthamitra, is well versed with the thread of the first film and can easily make the second part flow from there. He is keeping the essense of the Tamil original, but will be tweeking the story and its presentation.

Meanwhile, the filmmakers are already signing on the star cast before the movie goes on floors from December. And according to our source, the production house has approached Ravichandran to play the role of an investigative officer, which was essayed by Sundar C in the Tamil film.

Our source says, “The producers felt that he could do justice to the role and have even had a first round of discussions with the actor, who is said to have shown interest. Ravichandran, who is currently acting in P Vasu’s film, will confirm this project once the financial terms and dates have been worked out.”

Produced by Ramesh Yadav, Apthamitra 2 will now need three heroines and hopefully they will pick Kannada actresses.
