Sandakozhi 2, which is a sequel to the 2005 film Sandakozhi, features Vishwanth who was seen in the 2016 Rajinikanth-starrer, Kabali. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Rajkiran.

The actor will be seen playing the role of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's husband and close friend of Vishal in the film. The shooting for the film commenced this month, and it is believed that a set has been constructed at Binny Mills in Chennai. Vishwanth will also be seen in Vikram's Sketch, and will be seen playing the lead role in the psychological thriller, Onaaiygal Jaakirathai. 

Sandakozhi 2  will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
