A video circulating on the Internet claims that Indhuja, who made a stellar debut in Tamil cinema with Meyadha Maan, in which she played the role of the hero's sister, has landed the lead role in her upcoming film Billa Pandi thanks to the influence of the casting couch. Reacting to this video, the young actor took to her social media page, where she called the video her "first ever controversy" and debunked the claims in it.

Indhuja corrected the video which claimed Billa Pandi was her second film. She clarified that Mercury was, in fact, her second film and she plays the lead in that as well. "Some people think controversy makes them reach big. Please grow up. Cinema industry these days appreciates talent and rewards hard work. If I wanted to do that to come up in the industry, I would not have struggled for four years to get Meyadha Maan and Mercury, films whose makers respected my talent." She also added, "If I don’t reply to this video now they will keep doing this to the other upcoming actors who have worked hard and struggled to be a part of this cinema industry."

Indhuja will next be seen in Karthik Subbraj's Mercury alongside Prabhudheva and Billa Pandi which stars RK Suresh in the lead.
