Express Features

Askar Ali, who made his debut with Honey Bee 2.5, will have his second film, Chembarathipoo, hitting the screens this week. And, according to director Arun Vaiga, the film is a coming-of-age drama. "It is about how Vinod rediscovers himself, and how his love life changes him. Chembarathipoo traces two time periods of the protagonist's life," says Arun.

The film has Askar playing an aspiring director. "The film is in the format of a flashback where Vinod's tale unravels. His life is deeply influenced by his love affairs. Aditi Ravi and debutante Parvathy Arun play his lovers," says the director.

Chemparathipoo also has Vaisakh Nair and Aju Varghese in significant roles.

The tracks and teaser of the film are already a success, with the song Kannil Kannoru sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan especially well received.
