VJ Ramya, who was recently seen in OK Kanmani, has been approached to play an important role in director Manimaran’s upcoming film titled Sanga Thalaivan, starring Samuthirakani in the lead. Sources say she is expected to sign on the dotted line soon. We also hear she will play the mother of a five-year-old in the film.

"The film is set in a village and Samuthirakani will essay the role of a union leader. We'll start shooting by the second week of November in and around Erode and Salem," a source added.

Confirmed reports say that the film is based on the lives of handloom weavers.
