Given the success of Sathuranga Vettai, one of the most ingenious con movies in Tamil cinema, it came as no surprise when the film got a sequel. Not reprising the original characters, the film has Arvind Swami along with Trisha in the lead roles, and is expected to be a spiritual successor to the original. Interestingly, Arvind Swami played a con-man in his previous movie Bogan. The film's motion poster was released by AR Murugadoss.
