On the eve of actor Vijay's 43rd birthday, the first look and title of his 61st film have been revealed. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual, and the 100th film of Thenandal Films, is called Mersal. The film has a bevy of stars including SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, Nithya Menen, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu and Kovai Sarala.

Mersal sees the hit Theri combo returning, with Atlee writing and directing this film, too. Interestingly, the screenplay of the film is by Vijayendra Prasad, famous for writing the story and screenplay for the Baahubali franchise. The audio, by Oscar winner AR Rahman, is expected to release in August.

The latest buzz is that, since the makers have released the first look a day in advance of the previous plan, there is a strong possibility that they will surprise the fans again at midnight with another poster to mark the star's birthday. Stay tuned to Cinema Express for more.
