With 2.0, the sequel to the 2010 film Endhiran (Robot), entering post-production phase, the Shankar spectacle was expected to hit the screens early next year. Now it is learnt that the makers have managed to come out with a rough first cut of the film, and word is that director Shankar was pleased with it too.

While this is definitely a positive development, the film (starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson) will have to go through a few more months of post-production involving major VFX and special effects. Also, the music director AR Rahman is all set to begin work on the film's background score soon. It is to be noted that the Mozart of Madras had already composed a couple of tracks for the movie.
