Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha's 96 starts rolling

The film, set in the 90s, is the first time the actors are working together

Despite being busy with Vikram Vedha, and other projects that are in different stages of production, Vijay Sethupathi has commenced his next film with Trisha titled 96. The film went on floors today with a pooja,in keeping with Kollywood traditions.

As the title suggests, the film is set in the 90s and grapevine has it that Vijay Sethupathi will play the role of a wildlife photographer with a new look. 

Cinematographer Premkumar is debuting as the director with this film which is produced by Madras Enterprises. Premkumar is notable for his work in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom which also starred Vijay Sethupathi. The supporting cast of 96 includes Kaali Venkat and Vinodhini, and the hunt is still on for actors for other roles. 

Music for the film is by acclaimed Malayalam composer Govind Menon. The first schedule will begin in Andaman, with additional schedules to take place in Kolkata, Rajasthan, Pondicherry and Chennai.
