Word has it that Mammootty-starrer Kunjali Marickar will start rolling soon. The project, produced under the banner of August Cinemas, has been  subject of rumour for so long. However, as  per the latest reports, it finally will be announced this September.

The movie will be directed and scripted by Sankar Ramakrishnan, who earlier wrote Urumi. The period film will have Mammootty playing the Muslim naval chief of the Zamorin (Samoothiri), Kunjali Marakkar.
