The Billa craze started with Rajinikanth, then Ajith took the story forward. He remade Billa and followed it up with Billa 2. Now it appears that Simbu will take over the reins of this franchise. A source tells us that the actor will be directing and producing Billa 3 under his own banner. 

We also hear that the film's shoot, most of which will happen abroad with a few portions to be shot in Mumbai, will start in October, and that Simbu is set to leave for the US in the first week of August to prepare for it. The team is planning to release a teaser before the actor's trip abroad. 

Sam Paul of Vanamagan fame is on board as the villain, with more details about the film to be revealed in the coming days.
