Debutant Harish is all geared up for his litmus test with Vaishakam. “I’m from Bhimavaram. Since my childhood, I have been passionate about pursuing a career in the film industry. When I was looking for an opportunity, I happened to meet director B Jaya. After auditioning for the lead actor’s role, they selected me,” he says.

“I will be seen as a boy-next-door, and I believe every youngster will relate to the character. This role gave me a lot of scope to perform, and I would like to thank my director for trusting me with such a multi-layered character,” he adds.

Harish confesses that he was star struck when superstar Mahesh Babu launched the audio of Vaishakam. “It was like a dream come true for me. He is a thorough professional and so grounded. I’m indebted to him for supporting us during the journey.”

The B Jaya-directorial centred around family emotions and values, is pitted against Varun Tej-starrer Fidaa on July 21.
