Actor Nara Rohit has admitted in the past to working strenuously to keep his weight down, and getting back in the shape that he was when he worked on his 2011 film Solo. Rohit revealed that he underwent a gruelling workout regimen in a bid to step into the sets of his new movie with a toned bod.

“I had no other choice than to shed my weight for my next film directed by Pavan Mallela. I had to lose about 21 kilos to look fitter than ever for this film, which will have its first look launch on July 25 coinciding with my birthday,” says Rohit.

The 31-year-old actor currently awaits the release of Shamanthakamani on July 14. He plays a cop named Ranjith Kumar in the film which also stars Sudheer Babu, Sundeep Kishan and Aadi as the other leads. “It’s a different role. As the film has an ensemble cast, it’s hard to give each character their due, but director Sriram Adittya has pulled it off well,” adds Rohit.
