The story of legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao, who left the void in the Telugu industry with his demise a few weeks ago, will be retold on film soon. Former president of Film Federation, actor-producer and an ardent follower of Dasari, O Kalyan has announced a film based on the life of the filmmaker on Thursday.

"Dasari Narayana Rao was my guru and was an inspiration to many in the industry. His contributions to the film industry are unparalleled, and being his student, I feel honoured to make a film on his achievements. The script work is underway and the director, other cast and crew will be finalised soon," says O Kalyan.

According to sources, the biopic will focus only on his achievements in the film industry without touching upon his political stint. Regarded as one of the prolific filmmakers and a guiding light of the industry, Dasari breathed his last on May 30 following prolonged illness.
