My dream was to become a filmmaker: Vijay Ganguly

Vijay Anil Ganguly, who choreographed Galti se mistake - a song from the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Jagga Jasoos, says he wanted to be a filmmaker like his father, Anil Ganguly.

"My dream was to become a filmmaker like my father. Choreography happened by chance. After moving away from choreographer Shiamak Davar, I had completely quit dancing. After a brief struggle, I started assisting Anurag Basu in directing," Vijay said in a statement.

"While we were shooting some musical portions in Jagga Jasoos, Mr.Basu asked me why was I not choreographing independently. I had no reason. It was Mr.Basu and my sister Rupali who motivated me, so they are responsible for me being a choreographer," he added.

Galti se mistake, for which he even won a Zee Cine Award, is "surely the biggest thing that has happened to me and a turning point in my life."

He feels Jagga Jasoos director Anurag Basu is a "big and a very important part of my journey".

Would he like to work with any specific actor?

"One I already did - Ranbir Kapoor. But for sure it's, Hritik Roshan, Shahid Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Katrina Kaif would be a dream to choreograph as well," he said.
