The release of Naga Shourya’s upcoming romedy Chalo, directed by debutant Venky Kudumula, has been postponed to February 2.

Initially, the film was scheduled to hit the screens on December 29, but now the makers have decided to defer its release to avert a clash with other, bigger films.

“The third and fourth weeks of December are crammed with way too many releases including Nani’s MCA, Akhil-starrer Hello and Allu Sirish’s suspense-thriller Okka Kshanam. With three big films lined up for release around the same time, it wouldn’t be a wise move for the makers of Chalo to release their film as per the original schedule. So, to avoid the clash, they have decided to push Chalo to February 2,” says a source.

Set in the backdrop of a fictional town on Andhra and Tamil Nadu border, the film shows Shourya in a new avatar. “It’s a college love story. The protagonist goes to Tiruppuram from Hyderabad,” says Venky.

Rashmika Mandanna of Kirik Party fame plays the female lead and Sagar Mahati has scored the music. The film’s shooting has been completed and the post-production formalities are progressing at a rapid pace.
