Shreyas Manju's second will be Karna

A Sharadhaa

2018 already looks like the year of the sons. Ambareesh’s son Abhishek will make his acting debut next year and another young actor, producer K Manju’s son Shreyas, too, is planning his entry into the industry. While Shreyas is making every effort to be ready for the big screen, his father is taking an equal interest in his son’s career. Manju has reportedly drawn out a list of directors, including Raghav Loki, who are readying scripts for Shreyas.

CE had earlier reported that Shreyas will make his debut with an Imran Sardhariya directorial. We now know that the actor’s second film is being readied by Raghav. This debutant director, a student of Hamsalekha institution, has worked as a writer and as an assistant director for a few films  Raghav won a state award for his screenplay for Krishna Leela.

The film with Shreyas, which will mark his directorial debut, will go on floors either from mid 2018 or just after the actor has completed his first film with Imran. It will be titled Karna.

K Manju was a close friend of Vishnuvardhan, and considered him as his guru, and therefore he has chosen Karna as the title for his son’s second film. A 1986 film of the same name featured Vishnuvardhan and Sumalatha, and it was a remake of the Hindi film Saheba, starring Anil Kapoor and Amruta Singh.

Our source says, “The film won’t be a period drama, as expected from the title. It will deal with a good subject, and the actor and director need time to prepare for it. Manju is taking a lot of interest in the script, making sure that all the bits fall into place. These are the reasons why the making has been pushed.”
