Vijayakanth sets the date for Madura Veeran

The film will be the actor-turned-politician's son Shanmuga Pandian's second film after Sagaptham

Vijayakanth announced on Twitter the official release date for his son Shanmuga Pandian's Madura Veeran, which also stars Samuthirakani and Mime Gopi in important roles. The film, directed by PG Muthiah and featuring music by Santhosh Dhayanidhi, will hit the screens for Pongal. 

Madura Veeran will face competition at the box office in the form of Suriya's Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, Vikram's Sketch and other likely releases in the form of Sundar C's multi-starrer Kalakalappu 2 and the Prabhudeva-Hansika black comedy, Gulebagavali.
