Jarugandi gets a new replacement

Gopinath Rajendran

We had previously reported that actor Nitinsathyaa is foraying into production with his banner Shvedh Group, and his first project will star his friend Jai in the lead. The film, titled Jarugandi and directed by Pichumani, who has worked as Venkat Prabhu's co-director, had Aravind Kumar of Pandigai fame as the cinematographer for the first schedule. But it looks like acclaimed cinematographer RD Rajasekar, known for his work in films such as Ghajini, Billa II and Iru Mugan has taken over the reins.

Talking about the replacement, producer Nitinsathyaa says, "Our dates for the film have changed and, since Aravind is stuck with his prior commitments, we had to let go of him. He has finished the first schedule, in which we have actually shot 50 percent of the film. RD Rajasekar will handle the rest of the shoot. The next schedule begins from today and we're planning to wrap up the shoot by the first week of January. If everything goes per plan, the film will hit the screens in February."

Jarugandi has Jacobinte Swargarajyam actor Reba Monica John as the female lead, while Amit Kumar Tiwari, who was seen in Siruthai, has been roped in to play the antagonist. Robo Shankar, Ilavarasu and Mime Gopi are also a part of the film, for which Bobo Shashi (of Kulir 100° fame) will be composing the music and Praveen KL will handle the editing.
