Express Features

Quite a few Kannada heroines who have made a name for themselves in Kannada have seen success in other languages too. While young actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Shraddha Srinath and Samyuktha are being noticed for their work in other languages, the latest to join the bandwagon is Sruthi Hariharan, who will be making her Telugu debut soon.

The actor, who has won much appreciation in Kannada, has worked in Malayalam and Tamil cinema too. With her Telugu debut in sight, she is excited for the chance to make her mark in all south Indian languages.

Sruthi says, “The film is a romance made with newcomers. I am excited that this will be a new language and, as an actor, it will be a whole new experince.” More details about the film, its director and team will be revealed officially when the team starts on the project, most likely in January.

Sruthi’s last projects in Kannada were Tarak and Upendra Matte Ba, and she has a few Kannada releases in the pipeline such as Vijayaprasad’s Ladies Tailor. “There are other good projects too, but I cannot talk about them because they are still under discussion,” she says.
