We had told you Sri Thenandal Films will produce an untitled project of Santhanam's directed by Rajesh of Siva Manasula Sakthi fame. Now we hear that

Rajesh tells CE, "I am done with the script and it's true that we approached Sai Pallavi. Since she's busy with Vijay's Karu, she's taking some time to get back to us. I hope the response is positive." The filmmaker says has also approached other heroines for the role.

"Once the shooting of Mersal is complete, the producers will focus on this film, a commercial entertainer. I heard Mersal will be wrapped up in a week," adds Rajesh.

He says this project is special to him for another reason. "I have cast Santhanam only as a comedian in my earlier films. I am excited to direct him as the hero. I have given him a peculiar characterisation and tailored the story to suit his image." Rajesh says he knows what the actor expects from him as a filmmaker, and vice-versa. "We'll start shooting from October onwards," he says.
