Dream Warrior Pictures recently unveiled the first look of their upcoming feature film, Aruvi. The film, which has been doing the rounds at various film festivals, features a lawyer, Aditi Balan in the lead. The socio-political drama has a cast filled with newcomers, except for Lakshmi Gopalswami, who has done few Kannada and Malayalam films.

Directed by debutant Arun Prabu Purushothaman, the movie which is divided into 4 segments, with each segment throwing light on how people influence the titular character - Aruvi. SR Prabhu tells us, “We did not expect this kind of response, but this has given us the boost to promote the film better. Given the positive reactions to content of the film at different film festivals, we are confident that the film will work out.”

Talking about the casting process he says, “The audition was held in 2015, and the lead was selected from over 600 people. We wanted someone who could represent the audience- someone from the audience “

Prabhu says the project started by accident when a friend sent him the script. "We met at 10am and the discussions went on till 1am! After all the discussions, I decided that this is the script I should be doing” It still took 2 years for the film to get made. "At first, I did not want to bankroll the film because I wasn't sure there was a market for such a content. Now, after having made content driven movies like Maya, Joker and Managaram, I am sure the audience will love the film," he says, and adds, "It might have gone for film festivals, but it is definitely a mainstream film, which I'm sure our regular audience will appreciate as well.”
