Priyanka to get a big launch in Malayalam

The two-film old Kannada actress is to be part of Rosshan Andrrews' period drama starring Nivin Pauly and Amala Paul

Having earned fame with her role in the Kannada film Ganapa, actress Priyanka will now be testing her luck in the Malayalam film industry. The two-film-old actress has signed her first Malayalam movie — Rosshan Andrrews' upcoming directorial Kayamkulam Kochunni.

The movie, which is said to be a period drama set in the 19th century is touted to be one of the costliest films in the Malayalam industry, and Priyanka will be seen sharing screen space with Nivin Pauly and Amala Paul. 

The makers are planning to make an official announcement of Priyanka’s Mollywood debut, before they go on the floors from September. It is also said that portions of the movie will be shot in Mangaluru and Udupi. Kayamkulam Kochunni will be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and plans are on for an international release, which is temporarily titled as Kochunni - A tale of Indian Robinhood.    

Priyanka, who was last featured in Ganesh-starrer Pataki is on a roll, having already bagged two more projects in Kannada. She is part of  Suni’s upcoming directorial John Cena and Karthik Saragur’s Bheema Sena Nala Maharaja.
