Krishna, whose latest outing was Pandigai, is on board for Kalari. Directed by Kiran Chand, the film has Vidya Pradeep as the leading lady. “We all know ‘Kalari’ is a martial art form, but it also means battlefield in Tamil. Everyone has to fight his or her own battles, and this film talks about how one has to bravely handle things,” says Kiran.

The film, which has Krishna in a boy-next-door role, also deals with the generation gap issues that the protagonist has with his father. Kiran says that the story is based on a couple of real-life incidents that happened in the city. “It’s a commercial film with elements of romance, comedy and action,” he says.

Vishnu of Office fame, who debuted as hero with Ivan Yaar Endru Therigiradha, is playing the villain. Samyuktha Menon, MS Bhaskar, Jayaprakash, Senrayan, and Meera Krishnan also feature in important roles.
