Binod Pradhan debuts with Kayamkulam Kochunni

The ace cinematographer is known for his camera work in Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Well-known cinematographer Binod Pradhan, popular for his work in films such as Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, will be making his Malayalam debut with the upcoming film Kayamkulam Kochunni, based on the life of Kerala's most dreaded thief.

To be directed by Roshan Andrrews, the film stars Nivin Pauly as Kochunni, popularly known as Kerala's Robin Hood in the 1990s. Amala Paul and debutante Priyanka are playing the female leads. Amala's character plays a pivotal role in Kochunni's life, though she's not his love interest.

"The principal shooting starts from next month in Udupi. Binod Pradhan will crank the camera. The rest of the technical crew is in the process of being finalised," a source from the film's unit revealed

On the career front, Nivin currently awaits the release of his Tamil film Richie and Malayalam film Hey Jude. He is also set to commence work on another Malayalam film called Kairali, based on the disappearance of Kerala's biggest cargo ship.
