The shooting of Aruva Sandai, directed by Aadhirajan and bankrolled by White Screen Films, has been going on at a brisk pace for over a month now. Based on kabbadi, the film stars real life state level kabbadi player, Raja, in the lead.

Whilst filming a fight sequence, where the villain Soundararajan had to attack Raja with a sickle, under the supervision of stunt choreographer Thalapathy Dinesh, Soundararajan's sickle unexpectedly landed on Raja's chin, and resulted in a broken tooth and bleeding. After giving first aid, the team rushed him to the nearest hospital. However, despite this, the team managed to complete the sequence at the end of the day.

Aruva Sandai has Malavika Menon as the female lead, and the rest of the cast includes Aadukalam Naren, Saranya Ponvannan, and Ganja Karuppu. The film will apparently also deal with honour killing and is based on real life incidents.
