Within just three weeks of Yajmana's release, Tanya Hope's second film in Kannada, Udhgarsha will be hitting the screens this Friday. The film, which is helmed by Sunil Kumar Desai, is simultaneously releasing in all the South Indian languages. It also stars actors like Sai Dhanshika, Thakur Anoop Singh, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Shraddha Das.

In a conversation with Cinema Express, Tanya says Udhgarsha was the second project she signed in Kannada, even before Yajamana. “I still remember the day when the veteran director narrated the script to me. Despite being a senior filmmaker he personally met me and told me about the character in detail. This gesture of his made me sign the film without a second thought.”

She goes on to talk about working with the director. “Sunil is a director with a great conviction about his work. Nobody can deny his commitment to cinema. Working with him was a great learning experience.”

Tanya mentions it was a different kind of experience shooting for Udhagarsha, as it features events that happen over one night. “I shot most of my portions in the jungles of  Coorg. Dhanshika,  Anoop, and I had a lot of fun while shooting the sequences.”

The actor reveals that she is a huge fan of comedies. “It is my favourite genre. If the film has a tragic ending, it leaves me completely sad. It affects me so much that it takes me a while to come out of it. I'd rather watch a comedy and have a hearty laugh.”

However, she says she is happy to experiment with different genres. “I don’t want to restrict myself to one genre. I believe every film will add something new to my career. I want to able to do as many films as I can and find my place in the industry. I don’t want to let go of any opportunity coming my way.”
