"Though I'm unaware of Kannada cinema, I know KGF, and the film’s hero, Yash,” says Priya Prakash Varrier, who shot to fame with her wink in the Malayalam film, Oru Adaar Love. The young actor was in Bengaluru for the audio launch of the Omar Lulu-directorial. This will be the first film from another language to be officially dubbed and released in Kannada, and it has been titled Kirik Love Story.
The lyrics for the Kannada version are written by Dr Nagendra Prasad and V Manohar, and the film has dialogues penned by Shweta Shetty. Priya reveals that she is yet to get an offer from Kannada. “My dream is to work in all the languages, provided I get a good script and a strong character. I want the audience to remember me for my roles.”
The actor is excited about Oru Adaar Love releasing in four languages. “I can assure the audience that the story is a relatable one and it is something that everyone would have gone through in their school days,” she says.
Priya, who is currently pursuing B Com, says she dreamt of becoming an actor since childhood and she bagged her first film through an audition. “I was initially chosen to play a guest role in the film. It was only after the director saw my acting skills that I got a major role.”
She reveals that she has not taken any acting lessons. “The day I wanted to be actor, I started practising in front of the mirror. That’s where I learnt the art.”
About her debut in Bollywood through Sridevi Bunglow, Priya says, “I can’t reveal the plot right now. Neither do I want to comment on the teaser’s controversy.”
