Team Natasaarvabhouma talk about the Puneeth-Rajkumar starrer

A Sharadhaa

With Puneeth Rajkumar’s Natasaarvabhouma geatring up for a worldwide release this Thursday, Cinema Express spoke to the film's editor Mahesh Reddy and cinematographer Vaidy.

'Editor is the second director'

A fan-made motion poster by Mahesh Reddy for Puneeth Rajkumar’s Rana Vikrama caught director Pavan Wadeyar’s attention, and today, he is associated as an editor in Natasaarvabhouma. According to Mahesh, editors are second directors. “He should be the shadow of the director and understand his vision. I had good backing from the entire team,” he says.

Having learnt to edit during his college days, Mahesh has also studied visual effects and animation at the National Institute of Design. He has been part of various films, but working with Puneeth, he says, is a “fan’s dream coming true.”

'I like Pavan Wadeyar’s style of working'

Natasaarvabhouma is cameraman Vaidy's 24th film, and his third with Pavan Wadeyar. His association with the director goes back to the Googly days.

The DOP of blockbuster films such as Mr and Mrs Ramachari has ‘framed’ Puneeth in this film. “When it comes to showcasing a star, I concentrate on his overall appearance -- look and costumes,” he says, adding that the film which is packaged with action has each fight captured in a different mood.
