Director Chella Thangaiah, who had penned the lyrics of the song Chinna Machan Sevatha Machan from Charlie Chaplin 2, is set for the release of his second directorial, Karimugan, this Friday.

Much like his debut effort Thirudu Pogadha Manasu, which was a musical starring Super Singer 6-fame Senthil Ganesh as the lead, Thangaiah has once again teamed up with the popular singer for his second feature. The story, the filmmaker tells us, is based on the hardships encountered by teenage lovers due to no fault of theirs. "The character of Kanish is a tough role for someone to play in only his second film. But Senthil was my only choice for the character as I needed his voice to establish his credentials as a singer. After much scouting, I found my film's heroine in Gayathri from Kerala."

The director himself plays an important character in the film, and has also penned the lyrics to the five songs in the album, in addition to composing the music.
