Boomerang will be a perfect film: Upen Patel

The actor who made his Tamil debut in Shankar's I will be seen playing the antagonist in the Atharvaa-starrer

Bollywood actor Upen Patel has described Tamil film Boomerang as a "perfect project" for him. "It feels really exciting. I feel very lucky to have made my South Indian debut with Shankar's I. I had many offers after that, but I wanted to experience working with another big director with a great vision. So I was waiting for the right project, and Boomerang is the perfect film," says Upen.

He describes the film as a "thriller with a great script and a great story."

The actor, who began shooting for the movie last month, goes on to add, "The makers were looking for an actor who wasn't a typical villain. They wanted an antagonist who could match up to the hero's persona."

Asked if it's his co-actors, director or script that makes him want to do a film, the 36 China Town actor says, "More than actors, it is actually the storytellers that I like to work with. For me, it's about the director's vision and the story. I have always done films that I believe in. If you look at Hindi cinema or my work in the south, I have always had a gap of one year before I do another film. I try my best to look for the right script and role. I want to work in films that I would enjoy shooting and the audience would like to watch."

Boomerang, directed by R Kannan, features Atharvaa in the lead, and co-stars Megha Akash, Sathish, RJ Balaji, and Suhasini.
