Yogi Pholgun makes Telugu debut with Monagadu

A Sharadhaa

Seems like a change in his name has brought luck to this actor. Yogish, who has changed his name to Yogi Pholgun, will be testing the waters in the Telugu film industry and has signed his first project there. The film, which was launched recently, is titled Monagadu.

The same film will also be made in Kannada with Yogi’s father TP Siddaraju producing it, along with his friend, Narayana Murthy.  “We have plans to title the Kannada film Pralayathanka, but we are yet to get a green signal from the Chamber to use the title. This is because the rights of the title is with actor-director Ravichandran. As of now, we have announced the project as production no. 16,” says Siddharaju.

The film is being directed by MM Venkat in Kannada as well. He comes in with an experience of 24 films and has been associated with directors such as SS Rajamouli. “We will have a few team members joining us from Karnataka, to assist the director,” the producer tells us, adding, “We had plans of launching Yogi in Tamil but this opportunity came by first. Since art has no language barriers, we are happy to see him get a launch in the Telugu industry,” says the producer.

The film has three heroines. As of now, Bhanu Sree Reddy, a contestant of Bigg Boss Season 2 in Telugu has been roped in for one of these roles. “Since the film will be made in two languages, we are looking for heroines who can fit in with both langauges,” he shares.

The official launch of the Kannada version is likely to take place in July and shooting is set to start from August.
