Veer is very close to my heart: Zarine Khan

The actor opens up about Salman Khan's influence in her career and her major break in the industry

Zareen Khan says her Bollywood debut Veer is very close to her heart and that people today know her because she was paired opposite superstar Salman Khan.

Asked if starring in big-budget films initially helped shape her career, Zareen says "Today if people know me it is because of Veer. So, in spite of not doing well, Veer will be very dear to my heart because it was my first film."

The actor says that the roles offered to her during the initial phases of her career were less significant when compared to the ones offered to her now. "In Ready, I did only one song, in Housefull 2 there were a lot of other people and I had a very small role. So, maybe I was not really noticed and I did not get to do much in those films."

The 30-year-old says it was after the erotic thriller Hate Story 3 that filmmakers saw her in a different light. "People have started offering me films that they feel I can be a solo part of. I think it's not about doing big films. It is about how important your role is in a film and what that does for you," she concludes.
