Didn’t want a regular commercial film: Kruthika Jayakumar

A Sharadhaa

Young actor Kruthika Jayakumar has taken a while to choose her next after Boxer, but she says that she has been waiting for good scripts to come her way. Her second Kannada film, Kavacha, will see her sharing screen space with Shivarajkumar.

The actor, who will be joining the sets this week, is excited to be back in Kannada . “Since, I was born and raised here, I was particular that whatever Kannada film I do has to be really good and did not want to do a regular commercial film. I was waiting for a solid story, and that was why there seems to have been a long break after Boxer.”

Kruthika’s second film also happens to be a remake, and she does not mind that. “Even remakes are modified a bit in other languages. A good film will always leave an impression, no matter what language it is made in. When I was approached for the project, I watched the original and decided it was a good script to work with, and my character would add value to it.” Then, she heard that she would be sharing screen space with Shivanna. “I was like ‘wow’. It’s such a big opportunity, and I felt it was a perfect project for a comeback.”

Having made her mark in the Telugu industry, Kruthika is now ready to make her Tamil debut. “I am currently shooting for a period film Santhana Devan in Tamil, opposite Arya, and along with that I will be working on Kavacha,” she says.
