Soori to play a comedian with grey shades

He plays a character that takes on the hero

Express Features

After his character of ‘Pushpa Purushan’ in Ezhil’s Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran, which turned out to be a huge hit, Soori again has an interesting role in the director’s latest film, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen. The comedian says, “This is my fifth film with Ezhil. I usually play roles where I tag along with the hero, but in Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen, I play a character that takes on the hero. It’s a challenging role with a mix of villainy and comedy. My character’s name is Kalyanam and I team up with Regina to bully Saravanan, the character played by Udhayanidhi."

Soori, who is collaborating with Udhayanidhi for the first time, says, “Udhay hails from a very reputed family and yet remarkable for his simplicity. He’s sincere, punctual and maintains work discipline. We are also working together in two other films. The other hero of Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen is music director Imman. The songs are already a huge hit and the film will be a summer treat to the audience.”
