Cesar Romero was the first ever actor to play the Joker. This original Batman series was released in 1966. Who'd have thought back then that this character would be as iconic as it is now...

Jack Nicholson had the first theatrical iteration of the character. Quotes like 'This town needs an enema!' and “Sometimes I just kill myself!” brought out the true essence of the character.

The character has had a fair share of appearances in animated versions of Batman. Mark Hamill voiced the character in 'Batman the Animated Series' which later won an Emmy.

Kevin Michael Richardson, an experienced voice actor voiced the character and provided a fresh take on the 2004's animated series.

Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Laboratory and Scooby-Doo. Ring a bell? Yes, Jeff Bennett worked as a voice actor in all these iconic cartoons along with 2008's 'Batman: The Brave and The Bold.'

The Joker has been in all forms of mediums, Legos included. Voice actor Steve Blum, best known for his work in Bumblebee and Shazam! voiced the Joker in 2008's 'Lego Batman: The Videogame.'

Voice actor John DiMaggio who is a regular on the Transformers franchise voiced the Joker in 'Batman: Under The Red Hood.'

Best known for his work in Star Trek: Nemesis and Contact, Brent Spiner played the Joker for the 'Young Justice' series in 2011.

Michael Emerson known globally as Ben Linus from the drama series 'Lost' brought Batman back from retirement in 2012's 'Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.'

This version of Joker was the least appreciated among critics and the fans. Jared Leto played the role of the Joker in 2016's suicide squad.

This comedic take of the character from Zach Galifianakis in the The Lego Batman Movie from 2017 brought a new flavor to the character.
